Commerce Place Parkade
Commerce Place is a 21-storey, Class A office tower with pronounced City views, designed by architect Waisman Dewar Grout Carter Inc. in 1985. Located at the major intersection of Burrard Street and W Pender Street, it is conveniently located in Downtown Vancouver near public transportation, retail, and a variety of food services. The 2-level underground parkade is accessible off West Hastings Street to the northeast of the lot.
As the existing parkade contains several generations of worn and outdated signage, and is also missing key signage in helpful areas, we understand EDG is to prepare a contemporary and cohesive parkade and exterior wayfinding and signage design recommendation. The project will also need to consider existing exterior signage leading to and identifying the parkade entrance, as these are outdated, and could be made more discrete given the limited parking stalls available. Recently fabricated elevator lobby and room identification signage shall be retained, and any new proposed signage should visually complement with the objective of creating a cohesive sign program family.
