425 West 6th Ave.
425 West 6th Avenue & Yukon Retail and Office Building Development is a 11-storey office building consists of 2 (potentially 4) ground floor CRUs, roof top amenity space, 9 levels of office space with level 6 -10 to be Best Buy’s head office, and 7 levels of underground parking accessible via North lane. P1 also includes the bicycling parking /storage as well as changing/ shower facilities. The scope of this wayfinding project should encompass the wayfinding, project identity, tenant signage opportunities (office and retail), and exterior sign plans.
The key objective of the project is to support the needs of office tenants and visitors, ensuring ease of navigation to the various destinations on site, including ease of access to adjacent public transit and other City amenities. A cohesive program of development site and branding along with tenant sign criteria, will respond to the overall image for the new development. The signage is envisioned to be a vibrant, contemporary, urban character that supports Vancouver’s vision as a rapidly emerging City Centre. The signage and wayfinding devices will also be inspired by local and international best practices and applicable precedents.
In collaboration with Cressey Development Group & Experience Design Group Inc., Cenelia led the design development process for their Exterior Sign Strategy and Program for 425 West 6th Avenue & Yukon St. Her work focused on providing design support, materiality selection and mounting specification that integrate seamlessly into the architectural language of the development and Best Buy branding specifications.
